Antonia's Lofaso invites you discover her worldview by the food she cooks. Her curiosity grew as she left the Long Island suburbs to explore the vast cultural diversity in Los Angeles. Cavatelli, carnitas, and different dishes are all available within a menu. The menu is constantly evolving taste. What remains, however, with her food is an unifying view of the future while achingly recollecting the past. Inspired by her Italian-American heritage Lofaso opened Scopa Italian Roots in 2013 that was immediately a hit. The old-fashioned Italian rendition is widely regarded as one of Los Angeles' most captivating eateries. Lofaso consistently serves excellent dishes at Scopa, a neighborhood favorite. Its patrons describe it as authentic and satisfying. Lofaso trained under some of the best chefs in the world and learned the latest techniques, but was never scared to challenge her instincts. She swiftly rose up the ranks of Wolfgang Puck's Spago after which she went further to collaborate with celebrities in various Los Angeles kitchens. Lofaso, Sal Aurora, and Mario Guddemi partnered to open Black Market Liquor Bar Studio City in 2011. Lofaso found her place at Black Market, and through her partnerships she has created. Lofaso was able to finally experience the creative freedom she longed for. Black Market has no one direction in mind and that's the way it goes. One course may begin with potatoes chips, peppers and Dill. Then it's Korean meatballs and wings. Antonia Lofaso, the cook who created this delicious menu full of strong flavors, is the anchor of the whole. Lofaso's success has been measured through her ability to remain true to herself while still being able to comprehend her audience. Her memorable performance of Top Chef Chicago and Top Chef: All Stars celebrated her individuality outside the kitchen and her talents continue to shine in front of cameras as an expert panelist on CNBC's Restaurant Startup and recurring role on the Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child as well as ABC's Real O'neals. Lofaso worked with Penguin to publish The Busy mom's Cookbook - 100 Recipes For Fast Delicious home-cooked Meals in 2012. This cookbook also tells the story of her struggle while raising Xea and studying at her school, the French Culinary Institute.
